CREE and Taiwan HsinChu City Jointly Sign "LED City® Program"

Taipei, Taiwan, June 14, 2011 On the opening day of "2011 Photonic Festival in Taiwan", Cree Inc. (Nasdaq: CREE), a global market leader in LED lighting, signed a memorandum of cooperation with Hsinchu City, Taiwan today, and making an official announcement on Hsinchu City to become a new member of the "Cree LED City® Program" – an international initiative to promote the deployment of energy-efficient LED (light-emitting diode) lighting. During the event, Ming-Tsai Hsu, mayor of Hsinchu City, and Norbert Hiller, vice president and general manager of Cree LED Components, jointly signed a memorandum to mark Hsinchu city’s membership, whereas Cree will cooperate and communicate with Hsinchu City Government in assisting on applications of its innovative LED lighting technology that aims to provide more energy-efficient and high quality lifestyle for Hsinchu city residents.
